Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Collaborate with Cross Cat teacher, Primary Special Ed. Teachers and Primary Gen Ed. Teachers
- Provide daily instruction aligned to IEP goals and developmentally appropriate practices
- Serve as the classroom lead of service for all DPK students
- Collaborate with the special education teacher (TOR) on the development and implementation of each student's IEP
- Implement IEPs and collect progress monitoring data
- Differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs
- Maintain a safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment
- Communicate regularly with families and serve as the primary point of contact
- Publish weekly classroom newsletters to families
- Supervise and support classroom assistants and related staff
- Monitor student progress and complete required documentation
- Participate in case conferences and team meetings
- Follow all federal, state, and district special education guidelines
- Engage in professional development related to early childhood and special education
Contract Days: 184 Days/year (7.5 hours per day) Salary:
Commensurate based upon Education/Experience
- Experience Preferred
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Associates Degree or Para-Pro certified
- Able to work effectively and communicate with a wide range of students, staff and administration.
- Strong human relations skills, including professional tact, diplomacy and presentation.
- Multi-tasking ability and strong organizational skills.
- Strong elementary level math and reading skills
- Willingness to attend job training
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and clearly on telephone.
