We are seeking a passionate, spiritually mature, and servant‑hearted Youth & Family/Worship Pastor to join our ministry team. This individual will provide leadership for our children’s and youth ministries, lead congregational worship on Sunday mornings, and actively participate in the overall leadership and shepherding ministry of the church. As a church serving rural Southern Indiana, we desire a pastor who values authentic relationships, biblical preaching and teaching, family discipleship, community engagement, and multigenerational ministry.
The ideal candidate will be able to connect with children, students, parents, and adults while helping cultivate a culture of gospel‑centered worship and discipleship. This position is intended to begin with a two‑year commitment, with the opportunity for continued ministry beyond that term as the Lord leads both the church and the candidate to discern His direction.
Youth & Family Ministry (Approximately 50%):
- Provide oversight and leadership for all children’s and student ministries from nursery through high school.
- Recruit, train, and encourage volunteers serving in children’s and youth ministries.
- Develop and implement a biblical discipleship strategy for children, students, and families.
- Teach regularly in youth ministry settings.
- Plan and oversee youth events, camps, retreats, mission opportunities in conjunction with the deacon of missions, and outreach activities.
- Build relationships with students and families through regular presence at church functions, community events, and local schools when appropriate.
- Partner with parents in the spiritual development of their children by providing encouragement, resources, and support.
- Ensure a safe, welcoming, and Christ‑centered environment for all children and students.
- Plan and lead congregational worship for Sunday morning services.
- Coordinate worship teams, musicians, vocalists, and audio/visual volunteers.
- Select songs that align with the church’s theology, preaching, and mission.
- Recruit and develop worship team members.
- Work closely with the Lead Preaching Pastor in service planning.
- Help foster meaningful, Christ‑centered worship that engages multiple generations.
- Serve as a member of the church leadership team.
- Participate in staff meetings, ministry planning, and church‑wide initiatives.
- Assist with pastoral care, visitation, counseling, and discipleship as opportunities arise.
- Support the overall mission and vision of the church.
- Be actively involved in the life of the congregation and local community.
- Perform other ministry responsibilities as assigned by church leadership.
- A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and evidence of a growing walk with Him.
- Meets the biblical qualifications for pastoral leadership outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1‑7 and Titus 1:5‑9.
- Demonstrates a commitment to sound biblical doctrine and gospel‑centered ministry.
- Agrees with and supports the church’s statement of faith and ministry philosophy.
- Experience leading worship and working with children, students, and families.
- Ability to lead vocally and/or instrumentally in a congregational worship setting.
- Strong interpersonal and relational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, and lead volunteers.
- Effective communication and teaching abilities.
- Formal ministry training is preferred but not required; equivalent ministry experience will be considered.
