Job Description
JOB GOALS: To help provide a smooth functioning, safe, student friendly cafeteria and playground environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSWork time will be split between cafeteria related duties and playground supervision duties.
CAFETERIA DUTIES- Assist with the serving of meals as needed
- Help meet students’ needs while in the cafeteria
- Assist with the flow of students in and out of the cafeteria
- Clean off tables and other light cleaning duties as needed
- Provide supervision of students during lunch recess
- Ensure that all students are safe and interacting within school established behavioral guidelines
- Provide instructional assistance to designated students as requested

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE- Completed two (2) years of study at an institution of higher education
- Obtained an associate’s (or higher) degree
- Passed the Para Pro
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of school employees, students, or parents
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to apply common sense and understanding
Employees are required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear, and taste or smell. They may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly.
WORK ENVIRONMENTThe noise level is usually moderate. The employee is required to spend time outdoors in hot, warm, cool, cold, dry, and damp weather.
EVALUATIONAn evaluation will be done on the employee’s performance on an annual basis.
