MSD of Shakamak is seeking a dedicated and skilled educator to lead our Career and Technical Education (CTE) program in Construction and Manufacturing. This role prepares the next generation of industry professionals through hands‑on training, safety instruction, and technical skill development.

While this position is focused on construction and manufacturing, we welcome candidates from diverse professional and teaching backgrounds. We highly encourage educators from other subject areas‑including but not limited to Math, Science, Automotive, and Agriculture—to apply, as your skills are highly transferable to a new credential. Additionally, non‑licensed industry professionals are strongly encouraged to apply; individuals with verifiable work experience in these fields can easily obtain a Workplace Specialist License.
Our administration will fully guide and support you through the licensing process.
- Teach core concepts in construction technology, manufacturing processes, blueprint reading, and safety regulations (OSHA).
- Deliver hands‑on instruction in a shop or lab environment utilizing industry‑standard tools and machinery.
- Develop lesson plans that integrate academic disciplines like math and science with real‑world industry applications.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and highly organized classroom and shop environment.
- Foster partnerships with local businesses, advisory committees, and apprenticeship programs to create student career pathways.
- Guide students in earning industry‑recognised certifications and credentials.
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred but not required for candidates with extensive industry experience).
- Years of verifiable work or teaching experience in construction, manufacturing, mechanical trades, or a closely related field.
- Robust understanding of workplace safety, hand/power tools, and production workflows.
- Current teaching license in Career and Technical Education (CTE), Trades and Industry or a related field.
- OR a current teaching license in an allied technical or academic discipline, such as:
- Automotive Technology or Agriculture (seeking to transition to a new shop environment).
- Mathematics or Science (seeking to apply academic concepts to hands‑on building/engineering).
- OR no prior teaching license, but eligible for a Workplace Specialist License based on occupational work hours and industry experience in construction or manufacturing.
