Team Leader, T&D Operations Substation Training

The AES Corporation is seeking a Training Specialist for Transmission and Distribution to develop, deliver, and maintain training programs for Substation Mechanics and related teams.

• Assist in the development, organization, and facilitation of skills training for field personnel within the Transmission and Distribution Organization.
• Prepare and conduct field training exercises; evaluate and document training progress for each Substation Mechanic.
• Develop performance‑based technical skills training courses and conduct new methods training as required.
• Act as a training resource for other Transmission and Distribution departments upon request.
• Prepare audiovisual materials for safety and skills training, conduct job safety analyses and audits, and conduct safety walks and learning opportunities.
• Review existing safety rules and recommend updates or improvements; attend Substation Mechanic safety council meetings; comply with all applicable Company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and professional standards.
• Facilitate the Substation Mechanic Joint Apprenticeship Committee, evaluate apprentice applicants, conduct written and physical testing, and manage apprenticeship training data entry.
• Conduct compliance and refresher training for the Substation Mechanic Department and other departments; assist in scheduling training; perform training data entry; write and review task procedures.
• Facilitate company‑wide meetings, maintain industry knowledge, participate in call‑in duty, respond to substation/network operations and storm outages, and perform any other duties as assigned.
