Overview
Adjunct Faculty – Homeland Security/Public Safety – Indianapolis – Part‑time. Salary: $48.67 per contact hour. Reports to Department/Program Chair. All applications must include a cover letter and an unofficial transcript.
Responsibilities- Deliver assigned classes in accordance with college policy and course objectives.
- Use available technology to enhance instructional methods.
- Modify lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate student records, grades, and required documentation.
- Engage with students proactively and regularly in meaningful ways that support learning.
- Demonstrate teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning.
- Interact professionally with students and coworkers per college policies, guidelines, and expectations.
- Maintain a safe, quality educational environment.
- Promote an inclusive environment that reflects the broad backgrounds represented by students and employees, ensuring every individual feels respected and valued.
- Perform other duties logically associated with the position as assigned.
All responsibilities are conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and other applicable regulatory requirements and professional standards.
Qualifications- Specialized certification or credentials required for the class as indicated in the Curriculum of Record, or a current Workplace Specialist License granted by the Indiana Department of Education consistent with course objectives.
- At least five years of directly related work experience in the field linked to the competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record.
- Evidence of promoting inclusive learning environments in which every individual feels respected and valued.
