Position: Radio and TV/ Precision Agriculture Adjunct Instructor
Location: Rockport

Position Purpose

Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to develop students' skills and competence in Radio & Television, Precision Agriculture and the ability to problem solve in a wide variety of settings.

Responsibilities Radio & Broadcasting
  • Integrate professional and or industry experience with Film, Video and Broadcasting into curriculum and project-based learning activities.
  • Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the opportunities and limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
  • Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment and facilities.
  • Stay current in both educational content and methodology through a coordinated program of professional development utilizing the professional learning community model.
  • Monitor, assess and provide appropriate feedback of student performance and progress.
Precision Agriculture
  • Cover the diversity of agricultural industry and agribusiness concepts.
  • Cover topics that include animals, plants, food, natural resources and agribusiness.
  • Encourage students to develop leadership and career ready skills in Agriculture and Agribusiness.
  • Educate on the purpose and concepts of precision agriculture and precision farming through classroom and lab-based instruction.
  • Teach an understanding of plant nutrient requirements and how to provide for those needs to achieve efficient crop production through classroom and lab-based instruction.
  • Provide instruction on proper fertilization materials, application methods and techniques as well as proper soil testing techniques and pest management.
  • Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment and facilities.
  • Monitor, assess and provide appropriate feedback of student performance and progress.
  • Keep accurate attendance reports.
Additional Duties
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Equipment
  • Uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy and fax machines, and telephone.
Travel Requirements
  • Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities
  • Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.
  • In-depth knowledge of, and ability to use, MS Office Standard (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) 2003 and 2007.
  • Knowledge of PC and MAC hardware and software.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of industrial, technical and technology-related subject areas, as well as best practices in incorporating technology into student learning activities.
  • Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
  • Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
  • Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards

Works in standard office and school building environments.

Qualifications
  • Valid Indiana teaching license or willingness to obtain a Workplace Specialist license.
  • Demonstration of leadership.
  • Strong skills in interpersonal communication and collaboration.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate technology in instruction.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
