Job Description:
The K–6 Media Center/Career Assistant fosters a love of reading while creating an engaging, student-centered learning environment. The position oversees the daily operation of the media center and provides hands‑on instruction in digital citizenship, career awareness, employability skills, and problem-solving. Through collaboration with teachers, the assistant helps students develop creativity, communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills. This position prepares elementary students with the foundational literacy and career‑ready skills needed for future success.
Essential Responsibilities:- Foster a love of reading and support student literacy.
- Manage the daily operation of the K–6 media center.
- Plan and deliver career awareness lessons.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to support instruction.
- Maintain media center materials, technology, and equipment.
- Create an engaging, organized, and welcoming learning environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
