The Technical Training and Staff Development Coordinator plays a central role in strengthening the technical capabilities Division of Soil Conservation and partners by leading the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of high‑quality technical training programs. This position designs learning experiences, develops engaging instructional materials, and facilitates in‑person, virtual, and blended training formats to meet the evolving needs of the team. The Coordinator may also support the Division of Soil Conservation through grant coordination, data and performance reporting, program promotion, and strategic contributions that enhance operational success.

In close collaboration with internal teams and statewide conservation partners, the role ensures that training resources, program highlights, and workforce development initiatives effectively advance soil and water conservation outcomes across Indiana.

Salary

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

• Create customized training programs using proven learning principles and innovative instructional design techniques.
• Create engaging and interactive training materials, including presentations, e-learning modules, videos, and hands-on activities.
• Facilitate training sessions using a variety of instructional techniques to accommodate different learning styles and preferences.
• Collaborate with department heads and HR to assess training needs, identify skill gaps, and develop targeted training solutions.
• Conduct thorough training needs analyses to determine the most effective training methods, including in-person, virtual, and blended learning approaches.
• Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics, making necessary adjustments to optimize impact.
• The position oversees the annual administration of the Cover Crop Premium Discount Program (CCPDP), including partner coordination, program planning, producer enrollment, field verification, and compliance with USDA-RMA requirements. Responsibilities include managing timelines from pre-season planning through data review, reporting, invoicing, and preparing the program for the next cycle.
• Oversee the Conservation Stewardship Mentor Program, including partner coordination, program planning, and the committee.
• Collaborate with Division’s District Support Specialists to promote division trainings to ICP staff.
• Support Division of Soil Conservation staff with the planning, research, and preparation of grant proposals, including text, budgets, and linkage to expected conservation outcomes.
