Career Coach Pathway Specialist

Job Description:

Area 31 Career Center is seeking to hire a Career Coach Pathway Specialist who is currently working in the career coaching field or is willing to participate in professional development to develop career coaching skills, such as the Skillful Indiana Governor's Coaching Program. The successful candidate will provide career coaching and career planning services to Area 31 students, collaborate with school counselors, and support instructional staff in introducing students to a variety of career pathways and industry sectors.

The position will also serve as a key liaison in developing and maintaining partnerships with business and industry to expand career-connected learning opportunities.

Responsibilities

(1) Organize events to connect students with industry professionals. May include, but are not limited to, career fairs, partnership days, next steps, guest speakers, and college days.
(2) Organize various industry tours and events, including Manufacturing Day.
(3) Expanded counseling sessions to include career exploration and goal-setting
(4) Introduction of workshops on industry trends and emerging careers
(5) Formalized outreach program to middle schools for career awareness
(6) Expansion of CTE programs to align with high-demand industries
(7) Introduction of networking workshops and mentorship programs
(8) Introduction of comprehensive financial aid workshops
(9) Development of structured exploration programs aligned with students' career interests and pathways.
(10) Expansion of Work-Based Learning opportunities and on-the-job training programs to provide students with practical skills and industry certifications.
(11) Attend professional development and provide leadership in the development of career coaching, including the Rework America Alliance career coaching program,
(12) Conduct follow-up surveys with employers and students
(13) Other requirements as needed on a case-by-case basis.
(14) Under the guidance of the Career Coach, will include, but are not limited to the student completing at least every 15 academic hours a resume, Linked In profile, mock interviews, employer engagement, and engagement with a work- and-learn/job placement platform.
(15) Assist staff in working with students of special populations.
(16) Conduct school counselor training sessions for all Area 31 schools
(17) Work directly with County Economic Development to support the needs of each
(18) Coordinate efforts to create connections to local businesses for Advisory Committees and Work-Based Learning opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications

Valid Indiana teaching license in Business Education or another Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathway.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Effective presentation and public speaking skills.
Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with students, educators, employers, and community partners.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple stakeholders.
