Special Education Job Coach

The Special Education Job Coach identifies, directs, and coordinates employment services, including job placement, coaching, on-site direct instruction, individualized pre-employment training and ongoing support to students in the supported employment program. The Special Education Job Coach serves as a liaison with area businesses to educate and promote employment opportunities for students with disabilities.

• Assist students in developing appropriate employment opportunities based upon individual preference.
• Design and implement vocational training programs.
• Develop and review Individual Vocational Plans to meet students' employment goals.
• Develop and maintain solid business relationships to maximize vocational opportunities for students.
• Monitor students' performance levels at work sites to identify students' strengths and weaknesses for the purpose of additional training and appropriateness of current placement.
• Meet with students to determine work schedule, provide direction, and positive feedback for maintaining employable work habits and skills.
• Organize and facilitate on-site tours to expose students to academic and career options, providing students with the opportunity to meet and obtain information from hiring managers and student services representatives.
• Monitor student work sites to ensure compliance with child labor laws and safety.
• Prepare monthly progress reports and evaluations to determine job proficiency levels.
• Provide on-call availability to students, parents, and employers to address concerns.
• Enlist parent/guardian and teacher support, as needed.
• Support Transitional Services for high school students.
• Other duties as assigned.

This job can be combined with driving a school bus for full time pay and benefits.
