Role Description The Instructional Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in New Whiteland, IN. This position supports classroom instruction by assisting teachers with lesson implementation, small-group and one-on-one student support, and preparation of instructional materials. Daily responsibilities include reinforcing learning activities, monitoring student behavior, helping with classroom organization, and supporting a safe, inclusive environment for all learners. The Instructional Assistant may also assist with student supervision in common areas, collaborate with staff to address student needs, and contribute to school-wide initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to collaborate effectively with students, educators, and families.
  • Candidates should possess Education-related knowledge and experience Working With Children in school or youth-focused settings.
  • Candidates should possess clear and accurate Writing skills for documentation, communication with staff, and support of instructional materials.
  • Ability to follow teacher direction while exercising sound judgment and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated patience, empathy, and commitment to supporting diverse learners, including students with varying academic and social-emotional needs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; postsecondary coursework or credentials in education or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to meet any state or district paraprofessional requirements and pass applicable background checks.
