Junior High English Language Arts Teacher (6-8)

Primary Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned English/Language Arts instruction for grades 6–8, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
• Develop and implement curriculum that builds foundational literacy skills, critical thinking, and effective communication.
• Design and facilitate lessons that incorporate a variety of instructional strategies, including differentiated instruction and project-based learning.
• Integrate technology and digital resources to enhance student learning and engagement.
• Develop and administer formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress.
• Build strong relationships with students to support engagement and achievement.
• Collaborate with grade-level teams, special education staff, and instructional coaches to support all learners.
• Communicate regularly and foster partnerships with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom expectations and to support student learning at home.
• Implement strategies such as scaffolding, vocabulary development, language objectives, and visual supports to enhance comprehension.
• Analyze data to make instructional adjustments to improve student learning and provide targeted interventions.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback to support student growth and mastery of standards.
• Communicate with students, parents, and other staff members concerning student academic progress, attendance, and behavior.
• Provide a safe, thriving, and respectful environment for all students in the classroom and on the school campus.
• Participate in professional learning focused on student achievement and instructional practices.
• Support school-wide initiatives and improvement goals.
• Uphold all district policies, procedures, and state requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by school administration.

Valid Indiana Teaching License Middle School English/Language Arts
