- Performs strategic planning and implementation of education/prevention efforts related to interpersonal violence prevention and response.
- Develops and implements a strategic plan to address education/prevention needs on the IU Indianapolis Campus.
- Oversees development and implementation of a multifaceted sexual and relationship violence prevention curriculum.
- Oversees student, staff, and faculty engagement in prevention/education efforts.
- Seeks external funding to support education/prevention efforts related to Interpersonal Violence Prevention (IPV).
- Provides direct supervision of 2 Confidential Survivor Advocates.
- Provides direct advocacy services during periods of high volume, staff absences, and/or complex case scenarios.
- Continuously refines the advocacy protocol, including providing support for victims navigating campus and community legislative processes (e.g., conduct hearings, protection order (PO) hearings).
- Serves as the initial reviewer for student requests for supportive measures.
- Coordinates university response measures through close collaboration with campus partners.
- Serves as point of contact and consultant for faculty, staff, and students assisting individuals that have been the target of sexual or relationship violence.
- Builds and strengthens collaborative relationships with campus stakeholders to support sexual and relationship violence prevention and intervention efforts.
- Coordinates with various campus constituencies to effectively reach targeted populations in education and awareness activities.
- Collaborates with campus partners in the development and delivery of training for faculty, staff, and student employees in supporting victims of sexual and relationship violence.
- Collaborates with and contributes to university-wide efforts to address sexual and relationship violence prevention and responses.
- Attends regular meetings with intersected core campus/system stakeholders (e.g., Office of Office of Civil Rights Compliance (OCRC), Title IX Coordinators, IU Bloomington IPV Team, Health and Wellness Promotion (HWP). Housing and Residence Life (HRL)).
- Maintains and expands relationships with student government and student organizations to enhance engagement in IPV efforts.
- Identifies the needs of the institution through environmental assessments, ongoing review of current legislation, and comparison to best practices.
- Oversees evaluation of educational programming based on learning outcomes, including data obtained from online educational programs.
- Maintains data relevant to compliance with federal legislation related to sexual assault and relationship violence education, prevention, and response.
- Prepares and submits reports to university administration and compliance officers.
- Builds and strengthens collaborative relationships with community partners to support sexual and relationship violence prevention and intervention efforts.
- Sustains, expands, and utilizes a resource and referral network for individuals needing assistance after experiencing sexual and relationship violence.
- Serves as campus liaison to various community-based violence prevention agencies (e.g., Indiana Coalition to End Sexual Assault (ICESA), Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ICADV)).
- Responsibly manages a small programming budget.
- Explores partnerships and opportunities to gain additional financial support.
- Engages in professional development and continuing education.
- Serves on department, division, and university committees.
- Develops and implements programs and initiatives geared at improving student engagement and involvement outcomes at the program, department/division, or campus level.
