The Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Notre Dame invites applications for tenure-track and tenured faculty positions at all levels and in all areas of Electrical Engineering. Position titles may include Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor. The department is particularly interested in candidates whose research complements and extends existing strengths in wireless communications and networks, autonomous decision and control, signal and/or image processing, power systems and the electric grid, smart city applications, and cryogenic CMOS and low-temperature electronics, including circuits and devices for quantum computing and sensing.
Duties will include research, teaching, and service.
The Department offers Ph.D., MS, and undergraduate degrees. Tenured and tenure-track faculty members are expected to excel in classroom teaching, lead highly visible research projects that attract substantial external funding, advise graduate students, and serve the profession and the University. The University of Notre Dame is situated within the South Bend, Indiana metropolitan area, which has a population of approximately 325,000. South Bend is recognized for its relative affordability and strategic geographic location, approximately 75 minutes east of Chicago and 45 minutes from the Lake Michigan shoreline and Indiana Dunes National Park. These locations are accessible via the South Shore Line commuter rail.
The city is also served by the South Bend International Airport, offering convenient air travel options.
Qualifications:
Candidates at the entry level must have completed all requirements for a Ph.D. degree or have completed all but dissertation in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field by August 1, 2027. Candidates at the advanced assistant, associate, or full professor level must have a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
