State Officer Leadership Program Facilitator

Job Summary

The primary responsibility is to facilitate on-site and/or virtual learning experiences for state FFA officers in each of FFA’s 52 state associations, as assigned. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, facilitating conference curriculum, providing constructive feedback in a safe and supportive environment, and offering guidance to participants in areas such as positive influence, conversation skills, team development, public speaking, and workshop facilitation.

The conference group size will vary depending on the needs of each state association, and facilitators should be prepared to effectively meet the expectations for all group sizes. Conferences with more than 20 participants may result in sending two facilitators.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, facilitating conference curriculum, providing constructive feedback in a safe and supportive environment, and offering guidance to participants in areas such as positive influence, conversation skills, team development, public speaking, and workshop facilitation.

The conference group size will vary depending on the needs of each state association, and facilitators should be prepared to effectively meet the expectations for all group sizes. Conferences with more than 20 participants may result in sending two facilitators. In addition to facilitating learning experiences, facilitators will collaborate with state staff to develop conference schedules that meet the unique needs of each state association.

Conferences typically range from 2-5 days in length, not including travel time for in-person experience, and many conferences occur during the work week. The conference season will begin on or after March 10, 2027, and is expected to run year-round through March 2028. Facilitators will be expected to maintain flexibility leading up to the start of the conference season, at which point conference assignments will be made.

Conference Facilitators will also be responsible for administrative tasks, including, but not limited to, timely completion of expense vouchers, arranging travel, and communicating with state and National FFA staff. Facilitators are required to participate in the entire duration of facilitator training in-person held in Indianapolis, Indiana. For the 2027-28 staff, facilitators who have served in this role within the last three years will be required to arrive in Indianapolis on March 3, 2027, and attend training March 4-7, 2027.

All other hired facilitators will be required to arrive in Indianapolis anytime on March 2, 2027, and attend training March 3-7, 2027. All facilitators will be able to travel home after 2:00 p.m. on March 7, 2027. All facilitators are expected to prepare for training by completing assigned objectives throughout January, February, and March 2027. This preparation includes becoming familiar with and demonstrating a strong working knowledge of the curriculum prior to attending training in March.

Facilitators will also be expected to participate in regular virtual coaching calls throughout the season. Applicants selected for this position will be ineligible to run for National FFA Office and or serve on the National FFA Officer Nominating Committee. Compensation for this position is based on a set rate per focus area facilitated, which factors in curriculum hours facilitated, preparation time, and travel.

Lodging, transportation, and meal expenses will be covered and/or reimbursed. Facilitators will be compensated for their participation in the March training and winter pre-training work.…
