High Ability Instructor – HBE - Non Certified

Huntingburg Elementary School is seeking a
part-time High Ability Instructor
to provide engaging, rigorous learning opportunities for students in
Kindergarten through 5th grade
.

The High Ability Instructor will work with identified students during their regularly scheduled
Learning Lab
time, providing instruction designed to
extend learning, promote critical thinking, and challenge students beyond grade-level expectations
in both reading and mathematics.

• Serve students in
  Grades K–5
• Provide high-ability instruction during each grade level's Learning Lab time
• 30 minutes of Math enrichment
• 30 minutes of ELA/Reading enrichment
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and school leadership to align enrichment opportunities with grade-level standards and student needs

Responsibilities

The High Ability Instructor will:

• Plan and deliver
  rigorous, engaging instruction
  for high-ability learners in reading and mathematics.
• Provide opportunities for students to engage in
  higher-level thinking, problem solving, inquiry, creativity, and academic discourse
  .
• Extend grade-level learning through enrichment and acceleration when appropriate.
• Differentiate instruction based on students' strengths, readiness, and learning needs.
• Create a positive learning environment that encourages students to
  take academic risks, think deeply, and develop independence as learners
  .
• Collaborate with teachers to support continuity between classroom instruction and High Ability programming.
• Monitor student participation and progress to help guide instructional decisions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with elementary-aged students.
• Strong knowledge of reading and mathematics instruction.
• Ability to differentiate instruction for advanced learners.
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
• Teaching experience and/or experience with High Ability or gifted education is preferred.
