Salary: $44,000

Primary Function:

To make recommendations for program procedure and development of classrooms. To develop a referral process which will diagnose the learning patterns of students and develop recommendations for their needs.

Reports to:

Student Services Coordinator

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Special Education; highly qualified in all subjects. Master's degree

preferred.

  • Such alternative qualifications as the administration may find acceptable.
  • Understand and effectively utilize technology in both instructional and operational settings.
  • Knowledge/Skills with computer and computer software programs.
  • Excellent analytical and project management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • An ability to multitask and be self-motivated.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in an efficient and effective manner.
Term:

Contract will be for 185 days. This position is considered remote. Daily and overnight travel will be required. For additional guidance, please refer to our Remote Work Policy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible, alongside the Student Services Coordinator, for all appropriate paperwork including IEP's; transition; change of information, temporary placements, etc., in accordance with State guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain IEP's and annual reviews for all high school students enrolled by doing the following:
    • schedule and conduct and participate in IEP meetings
    • invite parents, teachers, and other school personnel (as needed)
    • document contacts and results of meetings
  • Provide monthly spreadsheets of all IEP's, REEDs, and summaries of activities of special education students to the Student Services Coordinator.
  • Complete weekly Attendance Tracker to reflect session attendance for students with special education sessions.
  • Medicaid Billing and progress monitoring.
  • Complete progress reports.
  • Complete amendments and participate in REED process
  • Complete individualized testing and complies data
  • Coordinate and attend weekly meetings with centers (virtually or in person)
  • Assist in testing requirements and provide students with accommodations, when necessary.
  • Build and maintain relationships with students and families
  • Coordinate with Student Services Coordinator to ensure needs of students are met
  • Assist the Student Services Coordinator in the development of any forms or procedures necessary to help the organization and flow of the IEP process/student schedules/credit recovery/graduation timelines.
  • Develop IEPs that reflect a creative team process to improve success in advancing through the high school experience (this to include adaptive tests; cooperative projects; posters; presentations, utilizing notes on tests/quizzes, etc.).
  • Demonstrate skills in collaborative efforts in team meetings and decision-making process.
  • Act as an advocate for all special education students to ensure, through scheduled classes, accommodations, and available resources, that every student is successful.
  • Assists general education teachers with RTI initiatives, disseminating student accommodations.
  • Set up a calendar in Google Calendar with Success Sessions for students to attend to assist in meeting the needs of the students.
  • Set up a Calendly calendar to project availability to centers to set up coordinator meetings when new special education students are looking to enroll.
