Job DescriptionThe Safety Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the Safety and Security Management Systems.

- Trends and drives the key Leading Indicators
- Responsible for developing and delivering Safety and Security training
- Coordinates completion of Lean Job Hazard Analysis
- Understands and promotes Behavior Based Safety
- Promotes the Safety Improvement programs
- Promotes continuous improvement
- Analyzes and trends indicators of injuries
- Assists with performing comprehensive injury investigations
- Manages workers compensation claims
- Supports compliance to OSHA and Kimball International standards
- Coordinates the Facility Security Program
- Understands and supports effective Local Emergency Response Teams (LERT)
- Understands and supports external certification programs (VPP and SHARPs)
- Assists in creating effective Safety teams
- Responsible to report all internal and external reporting requirements
- Maintains and updates written plans with annuals reviews
- Responsible for maintaining documentation of all required safety training.
- Maintains SDS sheets, both active and inactive
- Maintains safety files using the standard electronic filing format
- Support the Core Values and Corporate Goals of Kimball International.
- Supports 6S initiatives and Continuous Improvement
Required
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental laws, and industry best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in environmental safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related field (preferred).
- 2 years of related experience is preferred in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
