Role Overview

Under the general guidance of the On‑Site Project Manager, the Waste Processing Supervisor will oversee the consolidation and operation of all wastes received, which can include hazardous, non‑hazardous, universal wastes and off‑spec products. The supervisor will ensure customer orders are safely and accurately processed on time and according to all internal procedures, maintain compliance with all applicable regulations and customer requirements, communicate effectively with internal and external teams, departments, customers and vendors, and hire, train, develop, and manage staff performance.

Responsibilities (Essential Functions) Facility Management
  • Maintain operational documentation including reports, licenses, procedures, order requirements, etc.
  • Manage communication with other sites and corporate teams to coordinate work.
  • Administer scheduled pickups and deliveries, including customer communication to resolve issues or clarify requirements.
  • Support compliance with all federal, state, and local permit requirements.
  • Communicate facility needs, difficulties, and changes in operations to management.
  • Supervise segregation, packaging, and transportation of material, ensuring accurate paperwork and compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Oversee large projects/jobs, manage a team of technicians, schedule and distribute work, and provide instruction, feedback, and performance assistance.
  • Train technicians and operators on‑the‑job in equipment operation, service line processes and necessary paperwork, providing coaching as needed.
  • Promote safety and security initiatives across the entire team.
  • Follow all health & safety/Job Safety Analysis (JSA) procedures as outlined in company policies.
Work Environment
  • Required to wear company‑provided personal protective equipment including eye protection, foot protection, hard hat, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator.
  • Ability to maneuver around heavy equipment, including bending, climbing, crawling, and manual dexterity, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness and ability to work in a hands‑on manner to execute key initiatives and activities.
  • Must pass a DEA background check when relevant.

Safety, Security, and Compliance
  • Promote safety and security initiatives across the entire team.
  • Enforce and monitor safety rules and practices to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
  • Report and respond to facility incidents, identify causes, review and amend procedures, and communicate findings to employees and management.
  • Ensure employees are knowledgeable about potential or known hazards and take necessary precautions; conduct crew safety meetings.
  • Provide and maintain compliance with personal protective equipment for employees.
  • Communicate and train safety protocols and compliance measures to ensure operational efficiency and regulatory adherence.
Qualifications

Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.

Education
  • High School Diploma required; B.S. in an environmental‑related field preferred.
  • 40‑hour HAZWOPER training completed and current, or ability to obtain.
