What You Can Expect

As the Solar Technician II, you will access tasks via SCADA, Maximo, or SAP systems upon arrival at the Emerald Green solar plant in Greentown, IN. You will repair, troubleshoot, and complete technical work orders for solar panels, manage documentation, update parts inventory, and submit on-site status reports (daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly). You will initiate work orders for equipment repairs and adhere to safety protocols such as Site-Specific Orientations, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and safety meetings.

You may participate in an on-call rotation for outages and emergencies and must reside within 50 miles of the site.

In this role, key responsibilities include:

• Perform corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance and operations within qualified skill areas, ensuring safety and efficiency
• Coordinate high voltage switching activities with local utilities and ISO, including substation operations, lockouts, and grounding
• Work independently or as part of a team to complete tasks across solar power plant systems
• Use SCADA and other digital tools for monitoring and diagnostics, and operate test equipment such as megohm meters and IV curve testers
• Travel to various sites as required to support maintenance and operational needs

What You’ll Bring

• Minimum High School Diploma/GED
• Minimum two (2) years of experience in solar generation sites, wind generation sites, manufacturing or mining operations, or controls & industrial maintenance
• Ability to work long hours, often outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Comfortable standing, kneeling, or crouching for extended periods
• Capacity to be on call as deemed necessary by supervisor

Additional Details

• This role requires daily attendance at a worksite
• Must be available to travel domestically to other solar plants for emergencies and assist with outages
• Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record to drive company vehicle on and around the plant
• Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
• The position consists of 20% work indoors and 80% work outdoors; outdoor work may expose the employee to weather conditions
• May involve lifting up to 50 lbs.

Compensation

Hourly Range: $27.40 - $43.00 USD hourly

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate. ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

The position is eligible for a competitive bonus or incentive plan and on-call pay. Details regarding benefits or salary can be provided by your Talent Acquisition Partner given the work location.
