GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
The Assembly Bay Manager lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for system-level integration, verification, and validation of hypersonic components and flight systems. This role oversees test strategy, operations, team development, and cross-functional coordination to ensure systems meet performance, reliability, and compliance requirements. The manager blends deep technical understanding with strong leadership to drive efficient execution, early issue discovery, and high-quality product delivery.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of integration & test engineers and technicians.
- Define team priorities, allocate resources, and manage workload across multiple concurrent programs.
- Build a culture of accountability, technical rigor, and continuous improvement.
- Support hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, and long-term career development.
- Establish integration and test strategies aligned with system requirements and program objectives.
- Review and approve test plans, procedures, scripts, and integration configurations.
- Provide guidance on system architecture, interfaces, requirements traceability, and verification methods.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for system-level issues.
- Oversee execution of integration activities, functional testing, performance testing, and regression testing.
- Ensure test environments, benches, and labs are properly maintained, configured, and safe to operate.
- Manage configuration control, test readiness reviews, and integration milestones.
- Coordinate with program management to track progress, risks, and resource needs.
- Partner with systems engineering, hardware, software, manufacturing, and quality teams to define test requirements and resolve integration challenges.
- Communicate test results, risks, and recommendations to engineering leadership and stakeholders.
- Support customer reviews, audits, and technical discussions as needed.
- Identify opportunities to improve integration workflows, automation, and test efficiency.
- Drive adoption of best practices in requirements verification, defect tracking, and configuration management.
- Champion investments in new tools, test equipment, and infrastructure to expand team capability.
- Maintain and evolve documentation, procedures, and training materials.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
REQUIRED:
- Significant experience in system integration, verification, or hardware/software testing.
- Strong understanding of system architecture, interfaces, and requirements management.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in an engineering or test environment.
- Proficiency with test equipment, automation tools, and data analysis platforms.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a technical discipline
- 10+ years of experience in flight vehicle assembly and integration.
