Location: Nappanee

Our client is seeking a Structural Engineer to support the design, analysis, and documentation of commercial construction projects including new buildings, additions, and renovations. This role collaborates closely with architects, designers, and project managers to ensure structural integrity, code compliance, and constructability. The ideal candidate brings strong technical skills, experience in the construction industry, and the ability to manage multiple projects from concept through completion.

Requirements:
Structural Design & Analysis
  • Develop 2D/3D structural drawings and details.
  • Evaluate materials and construction techniques for performance and durability.
  • Design and analyze structural components for buildings and other structures.
  • Ensure designs comply with national and local building codes and safety standards.
Project Coordination
  • Identify and resolve design issues proactively.
  • Communicate design intent clearly to internal teams and clients.
  • Collaborate with architects and designers to integrate structural requirements.
Construction Support
  • Perform risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify construction aligns with structural plans.
  • Maintain documentation including calculations, reports, and compliance records.
Qualifications/Must-Haves:
  • Experience in the construction industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with structural design and analysis software.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within one year.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
