Staff Engineer - Bridge - Indianapolis

Overview

American Structure point’s Bridge Group is seeking candidates to join our summer internship program in Indianapolis, IN. As a Bridge intern, you will work with a diverse team of designers, engineers, and project managers on a variety of bridge projects to develop them from concept to final design. This internship will provide technical skills, exposure to civil engineering, and opportunities to impact meaningful projects.

• Support bridge design projects by assisting with hydraulic modeling, site assessments, and development of engineering reports.
• Use industry tools such as Micro Station/GEOPAK, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Open Bridge, Merlin Dash, and Quick Bridge to create 3D models and project deliverables.
• Gain hands‑on experience across a range of project types, including bridge replacements, rehabilitations, urban and rural roadway improvements, and major interstate upgrades.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Currently pursuing a degree in Civil, Environmental, Construction, Structural Engineering, Land Surveying, or a related field with a focus on civil infrastructure.
• Reliable transportation to and from the office or local project sites.
• Self‑motivated and eager to learn, with a strong work ethic and openness to new experiences and challenges.
