Location: Indianapolis, IN

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with strong expertise in Creo and HVAC-R product design. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in sheet metal and copper tubing design, GD&T, ECN processing, and Windchill PLM systems. This role involves supporting product development, engineering changes, and manufacturing‑ready designs for HVAC‑R systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop HVAC‑R components and assemblies using Creo.
  • Create and modify 3D models, detailed drawings, and BOMs.
  • Support design and development of sheet metal and copper tubing components.
  • Apply GD&T principles and tolerance stack‑up analysis in product designs.
  • Execute Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and maintain engineering documentation.
  • Work with Windchill for data management, version control, and release processes.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and sourcing.
  • Ensure designs meet manufacturability, quality, and cost requirements.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical support during prototype and production phases.
Required Skills
  • Strong experience with Creo CAD software.
  • Experience in HVAC‑R product design and development.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to sheet metal and copper tubing.
  • Good understanding of GD&T and mechanical tolerancing.
  • Experience handling ECNs and engineering documentation updates.
  • Hands‑on experience with Windchill PLM.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of mechanical design engineering experience.
  • Experience working in manufacturing or product development environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with HVAC systems/components.
  • Exposure to product lifecycle management processes.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced engineering environment.
