Frontier Resourcing are supporting a global aerospace and defence organisation in the search for an experienced Electronics Test Technician to join their team near Edinburgh.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly advanced manufacturing and engineering environment, supporting the testing, diagnostics, and repair of complex electronic systems used in cutting-edge aerospace applications.

Working on a rotating shift basis, you will be responsible for the functional testing, tuning, fault diagnosis, and repair of electronic assemblies and products, while supporting continuous improvement across the test environment.

• Perform functional testing of electronic assemblies to contractual, quality, and schedule requirements
• Carry out diagnostics and fault-finding to component level on production and repair units
• Recommend and support corrective actions on failed products
• Diagnose faults associated with automated and manual test equipment
• Execute preventative maintenance and calibration activities for test equipment
• Maintain accurate test documentation, yield data, and failure reporting
• Support continuous improvement activities to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost performance within the test environment
• Work collaboratively with wider engineering and production teams

• Minimum HNC in Electronics or equivalent hands‑on industry experience
• Experience testing and diagnosing complex electronic products down to component level
• Ability to tune circuitry to achieve performance specifications
• Proven experience using laboratory and production test equipment, including complex instrumentation
• Strong understanding of electronic principles and circuitry, both theoretical and practical
• Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams effectively
• Experience interpreting test specifications and carrying out manual production test and debug activities

• Understanding of RF circuitry principles and associated controls
• Experience working with Automated Test Equipment (ATE)

This is a fully onsite position based within a laboratory environment near Edinburgh.

The role operates on a rotating 3x12-hour shift pattern covering both days and nights.
