Position SummaryDwyer Omega is seeking a motivated and hands‑on Manufacturing Engineer to support manufacturing, automation, continuous improvement, and capital equipment initiatives at the Kingsbury, Indiana facility.
This entry‑level role will work closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Continuous Improvement teams to support the development, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes and automation systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation in manufacturing engineering and an interest in electromechanical assembly, automation technologies, and process improvement.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or early‑career professionals to develop engineering, project management, and manufacturing operations experience in a fast‑paced environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Identify and support automation opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, delivery, and labor efficiency.
- Assist in developing scalable manufacturing processes and assembly methods for electromechanical products and configured solutions.
- Partner with Operations and Lean/Continuous Improvement teams to improve manufacturing flow, reduce waste, and optimize throughput.
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of manufacturing process, automation, and controls‑related issues.
- Maintain item routings, work instructions, and process flow documentation.
- Support New Product Introductions (NPI) and Engineering Change Notices/Requests (ECN/ECR).
- Review drawings, blueprints, sketches, manuals, and sample parts to determine manufacturing methods.
- Create and update drawings using Solid Works or similar CAD software.
- Assist with BOM and routing creation and maintenance within ERP systems.
- Participate in benchmarking and implementation of new manufacturing technologies and automation strategies.
- Support capital equipment projects including supplier coordination, installation, and startup activities.
- Assist with manufacturing documentation including process flows, work instructions, standard work, and PFMEA inputs.
- Participate in manufacturing layout optimization and capacity planning initiatives.
- Support root cause investigations and corrective actions related to manufacturing or quality issues.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Continuous Improvement teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical discipline.
- 0–2 years of manufacturing engineering or related experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands‑on problem‑solving skills.
- Familiarity with electromechanical assembly processes.
- Basic knowledge of automation systems, industrial controls, pneumatics, sensors, or robotics.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with CAD software such as Solid Works or equivalent.
- Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
