Location: Indianapolis

Beckman Coulter Life Sciences, a Danaher company, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead Value Engineering and Supplier Transition projects focused on cost savings. The role reports to the Procurement Engineering Manager and is based in Indianapolis. The ideal candidate will drive design changes, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and manage supplier qualification activities.

Responsibilities
  • Lead Value Engineering cost‑reduction redesign projects: develop prototype ideas, draft Design Change Plans, perform verification testing, and transfer new designs to production.
  • Collaborate with Development, Quality, Compliance, Service, and Operations teams on design changes.
  • Ensure projects stay on schedule and resolve any roadblocks.
  • Lead supplier transition activities: draft Qualification Plans, review Component Qualification Reports, and address technical questions with new suppliers.
  • Coordinate with Supplier Quality and Procurement teams on supplier selections and qualification activities for cost‑saving projects.
  • Update or correct documents via Change Orders as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with relevant experience OR Master’s degree with 0–2+ years’ experience.
  • Technical expertise in electronic design of power supplies, motor drivers, digital logic, analog circuits, and/or microprocessor circuits.
  • Self‑starter who can focus efforts, overcome obstacles, and complete key objectives.
  • Proficiency in driving projects through structured design‑control/change environments for medical devices.
  • Experience with instrumentation design and integration (electro‑mechanical systems, fluid handling, pneumatics, thermal or optical systems).
  • Solid troubleshooting skills using formal problem‑solving methodology, analytical and statistical methods.
  • Experience with electronic circuit simulation/modeling software.
  • Product‑development and product‑engineering support experience.
Travel &

Physical Requirements

May require up to 5% travel to supplier sites and ability to lift, move, or carry equipment up to 20lb.
