Overview

A new opportunity has arisen for a Quality Manager within a Manufacturing Business Unit at Rolls‑Royce. In this role, you will partner with manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure products and processes consistently meet regulatory, customer, and business requirements. You will provide leadership and direction on all aspects of quality, driving continuous improvement, strengthening the operating system, and enabling the business to achieve its strategic goals while enhancing customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of quality engineers and inspection leaders, building capability and a strong quality culture.
  • Ensure compliance with management systems, regulatory requirements, and customer standards through effective assurance and audit strategies.
  • Govern and improve quality performance, driving KPIs and implementing corrective actions where targets are not met.
  • Reduce Cost of Non‑Quality through defect prevention, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies such as 8D problem solving.
  • Own and report quality performance metrics, providing clear insight to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Drive product quality planning and approval (e.g., APQP and PPAP), ensuring robust processes and controls are in place to meet specifications.
Who We’re Looking For

Basic Requirements
  • Associate degree in Engineering with 7+ years of Quality, Engineering or Manufacturing experience, OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5+ years of Quality, Engineering or Manufacturing experience, OR
  • Master’s degree in Engineering with 3+ years of Quality, Engineering or Manufacturing experience, OR
  • Ph.D. in Engineering, OR
  • 9+ years of Quality, Engineering or Manufacturing experience in lieu of a degree.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred Requirements
  • Green Belt or Black Belt Certification.
  • Experience with G & T systems.
  • Experience reading blueprints.
  • Experience employing inspection techniques.
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma tools.
  • Experience with problem‑solving techniques such as 8D.
  • Leadership and team development skills.
  • Effective communication, collaboration, and cross‑functional problem‑solving skills.
  • A commitment to core company behaviours (putting safety first, doing the right thing, keeping it simple, making a difference).

A 9/80 compressed work week means an employee works 80 hours over nine days in a two‑week period, typically nine hours Monday‑Thursday with alternating eight‑hour Fridays and “off” Fridays.
