The Master Scheduler – CMC Industrialization is responsible for developing, maintaining, and controlling the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for Rolls‑Royce’s Ceramic Matrix Composite (CMC) industrialization program across Indianapolis and Cypress, California. This role provides program‑level schedule integration across facilities build‑out, CAPEX execution, equipment installation, process qualification, and operational readiness, enabling predictable delivery of first‑of‑kind manufacturing capability. The Master Scheduler serves as the central authority for schedule integrity, critical path visibility, and scenario analysis.
Responsibilities- Integrated Program Scheduling:
Be the recognized subject‑matter expert (SME) for scheduling process, skills, data and toolset within the program or project. - Develop and maintain a resource‑ and logic‑driven Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Integrate schedules across multiple work streams, including Facilities, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, IT, and EHS.
- Align site‑level schedules between Indianapolis and Cypress, ensuring consistent structure, coding, and milestones.
- Guide program team members to develop high‑quality detail workstream schedules and integrate these into the master schedule to deliver the program or project business plan utilizing analysis and scenarios to optimize schedule outcomes.
- Schedule Control & Analysis:
Perform critical path, float, and what‑if analysis using P6 and MS Project to identify risks, opportunities, and recovery strategies. - Establish schedule baselines, manage change control, and track performance against approved plans.
- Analyze schedule impacts associated with resourcing and CAPEX changes, equipment delivery, and commissioning activities.
- Program Integration & Stakeholder Support:
Partner closely with Program Managers and functional leads to ensure schedule realism and executable logic. - Incorporate program, supplier and other third‑party schedules into the IMS, validating dependencies and delivery commitments.
- Support Program decision‑making during facilities start‑up, equipment qualification, and production ramp‑up.
- Reporting & Governance:
Produce executive‑level schedule reports, milestone dashboards, and readiness metrics directly from P6 and MS Project data. - Support Program reviews, gate reviews, and operational readiness assessments with schedule‑driven insights.
- Drive continuous improvement in scheduling standards, templates, and best practices.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- Basic Requirements: An associate’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field with4+ years of experience OR a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field with2+ years of experience OR a master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field OR JD/Ph.D. In lieu of a degree,6+ years of experience in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field in order to qualify for this role, you must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident.
- Preferred: Experience supporting manufacturing facilities start‑up, commissioning, or production ramp‑up.
- Familiarity with aerospace or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of Manufacturing Technology Readiness Levels (M‑TRLs) or gated development frameworks.
- Experience with first‑of‑kind or advanced materials manufacturing programs.
- Demonstrated experience building and managing program‑level Integrated Master Schedules.
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project, including logic development, baselining, and performance analysis.
- Experience scheduling manufacturing, industrialization, or CAPEX‑driven programs.
- Strong understanding of cross‑functional dependencies in facilities start‑up and production readiness.
- Systems‑level thinking with strong attention to schedule logic and data quality.
