Overview
We are seeking a skilled Injection Molding Process Engineer to lead the development, optimization, and standardization of manufacturing processes within a high-volume molding environment. This role plays a key part in driving safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives while supporting operational efficiency and cost reduction.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical leadership and support to Process Engineers, Process Technicians, and production personnel
- Develop, implement, and optimize injection molding processes and manufacturing methods
- Identify and resolve manufacturing issues, including out-of-control processes and quality discrepancies
- Apply root cause analysis methodologies to troubleshoot and prevent recurring issues
- Analyze process data to drive improvements in quality, scrap reduction, cycle time, and cost
- Support standardization of equipment, processes, and procedures aligned with operational excellence initiatives
- Lead and support new mold launches, trials, and process validation activities
- Serve as a key user of MES and related systems; support remote maintenance capabilities
- Act as a subject matter expert for plant-wide systems (e.g., material handling, auxiliary equipment)
- Collaborate with vendors on equipment, services, and capital improvement projects
- Maintain and develop technical documentation, SOPs, and process standards
- Partner with leadership to develop and execute employee training and development plans
- Provide hands-on training and mentorship for technical staff
- Support equipment maintenance efforts as needed
- Work cross-functionally with Maintenance, Tooling, Engineering, and Automation teams to achieve project goals and implement improvements
- Participate in capital projects including equipment selection, justification, quoting, and installation within budget constraints
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred;
Associate degree considered - Minimum of 2 years of experience in injection molding process engineering, or
- 7+ years of hands-on injection molding process experience with demonstrated progression
- Strong understanding of injection molding processes, troubleshooting, and process optimization
- Effective communication skills with the ability to clearly present technical information across all levels of the organization
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
