Summary HII - Mission Technologies is hiring a Lead Systems Engineer for our Platform Integration team to support engineering, technical, and analytical activities for government and defense programs located in Crane, Indiana. This role is responsible for managing the technical health, lifecycle, and integration of a portfolio of systems, platforms, or capabilities, ensuring alignment with mission requirements, acquisition processes, and engineering standards.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in DoD environments and is comfortable collaborating with government customers, engineering teams, and program management. This is an onsite position for candidates ideally located near Crane, IN. We will consider applicants residing in/near Panama City, FL, Patuxent River, MD, or Jacksonville, FL. What you will do Support the planning, development, and management of a portfolio of systems, technologies, or capabilities across their full lifecycle.
Provide engineering analysis to inform investment decisions, risk assessments, system upgrades, and capability gaps. Coordinate with government program offices, technical leads, and stakeholders to ensure portfolio alignment with mission and operational needs. Develop and maintain technical documentation, including roadmaps, interface control documents, configuration baselines, and system assessments. Conduct trade studies, requirements analysis, and systems integration assessments to support acquisition and engineering decisions.
Monitor system performance, configuration changes, and technology health across multiple projects. Assist with budget planning, cost estimation, and prioritization of engineering tasks across the portfolio. Ensure all portfolio elements comply with DoD engineering processes, cybersecurity requirements, and relevant standards. Support technical reviews, milestone readiness, and program audits. Provide recommendations for modernization, sustainment, and technology insertion opportunities. What we are looking for (minimum qualifications) 20 years relevant experience with bachelor's in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical field.
Experience with systems engineering processes, requirements analysis, and technical documentation. Familiarity with DoD acquisition frameworks, lifecycle management, and government standards.
