Transportation Design Engineer

Immediate employment

• Perform complex highway and roadway engineering tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Extract engineering information from CAD drawings and prepare engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and design specifications.
• Complete various assignments such as drawings, specifications, and procurement‑ and construction‑ready materials.
• Frequently interface with other engineering disciplines and departments.
• Provide technical guidance to CAD designers, draftsmen, designers, and other engineers on the project.
• Sign and seal documents as professional Engineer of Record as required, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.
• Apply design experience to structures and/or highway Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Professional Engineer (PE) license and NCEES certification, with ability to be licensed in any state.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and 6+ years of related professional experience.
• PE in Indiana and/or Ohio preferred.
• Experience with design and plan development for DOT and transit projects; preference for INDOT and ODOT projects.
• Proficiency with Open Roads/Micro Station and/or Civil 3D/AutoCAD.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
• Broad understanding of technology, materials, equipment, design concepts, and construction techniques.
