Your new role

As an Environmental Consultant, you will conduct Phase I environmental site assessments (ESAs) and limited environmental compliance reviews of complex industrial facilities and/or facilities with long industrial histories, liaise with the transaction team to discuss identified liabilities, and assist clients with post‑transaction integration. Other tasks may include maintaining regulatory compliance and improving ESG and sustainability performance.

Your key responsibilities will be:
  • Conduct environmental due diligence reviews (desktop and/or Phase I ESAs), including limited environmental compliance reviews, of industrial sites to support mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other transactions. This includes document reviews, site visits, interviews with management or site personnel, review of historical information, and preparation of Phase I reports consistent with ASTM standards or client‑specific custom reports.
  • Provide general environmental compliance support across regulatory program areas such as hazardous waste, wastewater/stormwater, air emissions, chemical/spill prevention, and Community Right‑to‑Know regulations. Tasks may include preparation of environmental plans (SPCC, SWPPP, etc.), permit applications/transfers, and environmental reporting.
  • Travel to facilities for site visits, including both local and non‑local travel.
  • Support multiple projects and meet high‑quality standards on project deliverables.
  • Develop junior team members, contribute to proposals and cost estimates, and manage certain aspects of projects.
About you
  • Minimum B.S. degree in a relevant engineering discipline (civil, environmental, chemical) or B.S./B.A. in a relevant science discipline (environmental science, geology, chemistry, physics, or biology). An advanced degree is desirable but not required.
  • Preferably 2+ years of experience in environmental consulting, including Phase I ESAs and compliance reviews for industrial facilities. Experience in contaminated site investigation and remediation, emerging contaminants, health and safety, or ESG is helpful. Alternatively, relevant industry experience in EHS management may be considered.
  • Preferably a demonstrated ability to perform Phase I ESAs and limited compliance reviews of complex industrial sites, with the ability to travel on short business trips (typically 1–2 days). Driver’s license and air travel required.
  • Accustomed to working in a fast‑paced transactional environment, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and possessing excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to distill complex EHS or technical issues into terms our clients can understand.
  • Highly motivated self‑starter, flexible, willing to learn, grow, collaborate, and actively contribute to the project team.
