Location: Indianapolis
B.E. REED, LLC is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, Water Resources Engineer to support the planning and design of water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects across Indiana. You'll help advance the water resource industry through common-sense and practical engineering while working in a culture grounded in our core values:

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys hands-on technical work, CAD design, and contributing to a collaborative, right-sized team dedicated to impactful environmental stewardship and resilient community infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support planning, design, and construction-phase services for water, wastewater, and stormwater projects.
- Prepare engineering studies
, including preliminary engineering reports, master plans, and alternatives evaluations. - Design sanitary sewer systems (including gravity sewers, pressure sewers, pump stations, and relocations, etc.),
water distribution systems (including booster stations, layouts, and system improvements, etc.), and water treatment and water recovery facilities
. - Develop technical specifications
, design calculations, and detailed plan sets. - Produce and review AutoCAD/Civil 3D drawings.
- Develop and review technical reports, memoranda, and presentations for internal and client use.
- Conduct site visits, field investigations, and construction inspection to support design intent and quality control.
- Assist with project scoping, budgeting, scheduling and client communications
. - Mentor junior staff and contribute to internal quality assurance.
- B.S. in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline
. - 5-10 year of progressive water resources design experience.
- Indiana PE or ability to obtain with 6 months.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD
, including Civil 3D
. - Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain schedules, and deliver high-quality work.
- Valid driver's license and ability to safely navigate project sites.
- Experience with Indiana municipalities, utility districts, and public agencies
. - Understanding of water resource processes, equipment, distribution and conveyance systems
, and construction administration. - Familiarity with stormwater modeling tools and GIS.
- Experience with treatment facility upgrades
. - Experience preparing technical presentations for clients.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn.
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
