Senior Subcontract Administrator – Advanced ManufacturingAs a Senior Subcontract Administrator for Advanced Manufacturing, you will be responsible for contracting with major construction services for mid‑to‑large‑sized projects (Total Installed Cost of $50M - $750M). The role applies functional knowledge and existing methodologies to solve complex problems while implementing innovative solutions. You will serve as the dedicated lead on projects, accountable for team members and ongoing activities or objectives.
Leverage your passion and experience as you conduct and coordinate procurement transactions associated with purchasing complex large professional and/or construction services. The Senior Subcontract Administrator has thorough knowledge of procurement concepts, principles and practices, and ensures task completion. You will integrate procurement with other project functions, pursue value‑added expectations, and perform assignments in accordance with established policies and procedures. You will advance the knowledge of a subject area or commodity.
The Senior Subcontract Administrator reports directly to the Director of Supply Management, Advanced Manufacturing (AM). While supporting Jacobs’ Projects, the Senior Subcontract Administrator will report indirectly to the assigned Project Procurement Manager (PPM) or Project Manager.

Here’s What You’ll Do- As a Subcontracts Lead, develop upfront procurement planning activities such as providing into the Supply Management Execution Plan (SMEP), establishing subcontracting strategies, and developing project‑specific templates, reports, and tools.
- As a Subcontracts Lead, provide general guidance to subcontract technicians and associate subcontract administrators who may be assigned to the Project. This includes on‑the‑job training, support, supply management systems instruction, and managing package assignments.
- As a Subcontracts Lead, use critical thinking and problem solving to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the Project’s subcontracting efforts.
- Subcontracting assignments typically involve major or complex construction services on larger projects, or assignment as the Subcontracts Lead for all subcontracting on a medium to large size project.
- Utilize established policies, procedures, systems, and tools.
- Coordinate the subcontracted services procurement agreements and change orders (modifications) to accomplish project or group objectives and obligations.
- Review subcontracts‑related invoices and ensure they are approved in accordance with terms and conditions agreed within the subcontract.
- Evaluate facts surrounding subcontract‑related problem areas and apply remedies to resolve them.
- Maintain subcontracting documentation in a repository.
- Identify and advise management of subcontract‑related risks.
- Prepare bidder lists, qualify bidders, prepare requests for quotation, and conduct bid evaluations.
- Prepare proposal deliverables, such as pricing of subcontracted services, execution approach narratives, and labor hour estimates for subcontracting.
- Recommend source selections, develop negotiation strategies, plan and lead subcontract negotiations and coordinate final negotiations with legal department.
- Coordinate clarification meetings with bidders and project team.
