Manufacturing Engineers are involved in the development of advanced manufacturing processes across aerospace, marine, and nuclear technology. On the job you will work with designers, customers, suppliers and operations specialists globally.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure product integrity of components by aligning manufacturing methods with design intent through interfacing with the appropriate design engineering organization.
- Guarantee manufacturing processes and methods meet and continue to meet requirements for quality, cost, delivery, and lead time.
- Follow process change management procedures via FAIRs, MVAs, and technical verification.
- Reduce waste through setup reduction, scrap reduction, machine utilization improvement, and method improvement.
- Investigate and determine corrective actions for customer complaints and quality non‑compliances.
- Lead problem solving/corrective action groups made up of cross‑functional team members.
- Create and maintain elements of the Technical Package which clearly define the manufacturing process.
- Associate's degree with 4+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering; or
- Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering; or
- Master's degree with experience in Manufacturing Engineering; or
- JD/PhD; or
- 9+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering in lieu of degree.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Understanding of manufacturing processing of aerospace components.
- Experience with machining principles for turning, grinding, drilling, milling, or shaping.
- Project management experience in a manufacturing environment, dealing with multiple customers/suppliers simultaneously.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Extensive experience with PFMEA, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, Manufacturing Technology, Process Audits, and DFM/DFA.
- Knowledge of DZD (Drive to Zero Defects) and ability to lead cross‑functional teams of suppliers and Rolls‑Royce personnel through this initiative.
- Knowledge of FAIR and Method Validation Approval (MVA) processes.
