What You'll Be Doing
As a Project Scheduler, you will plan and schedule heavy industrial engineering projects, monitor project costs and estimating, and work under minimal supervision.
Responsibilities- Develop schedules and analysis for contract packages to forecast construction activities and identify coordination issues affecting safety and schedule.
- Develop, monitor, and update schedules, obtaining updates through meetings, construction coordination interviews, and field verification.
- Apply Earned Value Management and Project Productivity principles.
- Monitor and maintain the change notice / change order management system.
- Assist in facilitating weekly change notice hearings and change committee meetings.
- Establish a progressive system for projects.
- Assist clients and teammates in developing construction and contract strategies for constructability, logistics, and safety.
- Assist in quantity analysis for activity duration and estimating.
- Ideal Background
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor or Master of Science in Construction Science, Building Science, or related field highly preferred. - Certification: AACE International or Project Management Institute (PMI) certification preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years of relevant industrial experience in planning, scheduling, cost control, and estimating.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge and application of company business standards and good practices.
- Extreme attention to detail.
- Comprehensive understanding of all engineering disciplines.
- Understanding of customer deliverable expectations and preferences.
- Ability to set priorities and manage time.
- Effective communication with engineering disciplines and contractors regarding schedules, scopes of work, estimates, and project costs.
- Coaching and mentoring experience.
- Excellent listening and communication skills, verbal and written.
- Excellent presentation and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of other disciplines deliverable development for coordination.
- Understanding of schedule constraints and information requirements for all project controls deliverables.
- Experience scheduling professional service hours and assessing progress and quality of project controls work.
- Ability to accurately estimate completion of assigned tasks.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project scheduling software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Additional Requirement: Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
