Position Overview
dormakaba is seeking a Test Lab Technician based in Indianapolis, IN. The Test Lab Technician is responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and overall quality of dormakaba’s full range of door hardware products, including mechanical and electro‑mechanical (mechatronic) products. In this role, you will be directly responsible for performing tests and for setting up and executing established testing procedures in the test lab.
HIRING SALARY RANGE:
Base Salary $65,000 - $80,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) Please visit our career site for more information on benefits.
- Execute test plans and procedures to evaluate the performance, reliability, and safety of mechanical and electro‑mechanical (mechatronic) door hardware products, in compliance with applicable standards and regulatory requirements.
- Build, set up, and maintain test fixtures and equipment that accurately simulate real‑world operating conditions to ensure reliable and meaningful test results.
- Conduct tests on mechanical and electro‑mechanical (mechatronic) door hardware components, subsystems, and assemblies to verify functionality and performance in accordance with established testing protocols and procedures.
- Record and analyze test results and data to identify issues, defects, and opportunities for improvement in mechanical and electro‑mechanical (mechatronic) door hardware products.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Proven experience in mechanical product testing preferably in a product development environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
- Proficiency in testing methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience with metal machining tools, 3 axis manual mill, drill press, sanders, hand tools, machining and 3D printing.
