Reliability & Asset Management Engineer – Transmission Lines
A leading electric cooperative is seeking a Reliability & Asset Management Engineer to support the long-term reliability, maintenance strategy, and asset management programs for transmission line infrastructure.
This role is responsible for evaluating transmission asset performance, analyzing reliability data, supporting compliance initiatives, and developing long-term maintenance and replacement strategies that ensure safe and reliable system operations.
What You Will Do- Analyze transmission outage and reliability data to identify root causes and improvement opportunities
- Evaluate transmission asset condition and remaining useful life
- Develop long-term maintenance, repair, and replacement plans
- Perform risk assessments and reliability analysis
- Support NERC and regional reliability compliance initiatives
- Collaborate with utility stakeholders, member systems, and industry partners
- Maintain asset management systems and reliability databases
- Recommend projects and operational improvements that enhance reliability and reduce costs
- Participate in industry organizations and stay current on emerging asset management practices
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the electric utility or power industry
- Knowledge of transmission systems, substations, utility maintenance, or reliability programs
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with technical data, reporting, and asset management systems
- Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination abilities
- Experience with transmission line maintenance or planning
- Asset management and reliability engineering experience
- NERC compliance exposure
- Utility asset health assessment experience
- Risk-based maintenance planning experience
Hybrid position based near Spencer, Indiana. Candidates must reside or relocate within approximately 1–2 hours of Spencer, IN.
