Job Description

Join our dynamic and multidisciplinary Water Team as a consultant in our rapidly growing Edinburgh and Glasgow offices – while enjoying a flexible hybrid working model.

In this role, you will work day‑to‑day on ambitious water projects, develop your skills, and support more junior team members. All team members are involved in client contact and commercial aspects, with health, safety and environmental considerations at the core of our work.

Typical projects include urban river restoration, flood and drainage assessments, and natural flood management studies. For example:

  • Dighty Water Restoration concept design (ongoing) – Dundee City Council and SEPA WEF
  • Glasgow Lost Rivers concept design (ongoing) – Glasgow City Council and SEPA WEF
  • Bathgate Water Restoration design (ongoing) – West Lothian Council and SEPA WEF
  • Alyth NFM Study – Perth and Kinross Council
  • Westquarter NFM Study and leaky barrier design – Falkirk Council
Responsibilities
  • Support the team in developing technical approaches to strategy and design work.
  • Support the team in clearly communicating with key clients both internally and externally.
  • Conduct geomorphological studies, including channel enhancement/restoration projects, natural flood management studies and fluvial audits.

Qualifications
  • BSc/MSc in Geography, Geomorphology, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience using GIS.
  • Full driving licence is beneficial for site survey travel.
