We are seeking a highly motivated and detail‑oriented Manufacturing Engineer to support the Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMC) team, focusing on CMM and GOM inspection. The role involves process design, capability acquisition, and process development to ensure manufacturability and quality of CMC components.
Responsibilities- Process Design Support:
Lead DFM sessions for CMC components to improve manufacturability; define dimensioning schemes; create characteristic matrix plans. - Collaborate with design and HTC teams to transition new products from development to manufacturing.
- Capability Acquisition:
Spec and procure measurement equipment; industrialize inspection of CMC products. - Process Development:
Complete MSA studies; develop inspection plans; define and implement pre‑ and post‑coating inspection methods. - Create and implement visual inspection techniques using advanced automation technologies.
- Support transition of new products to manufacturing through collaboration with HTC and design teams.
- Associate’s Degree + 3 years of related engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree + 1 year of related engineering experience.
- Master’s Degree or JD/Ph.D.
- 5 years of related engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
- US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required.
- Experience with Zeiss Calypso, Siemens NX, and GOM software.
- Strong understanding of Windows computer systems, file permissions, and network drives.
- Knowledge of aerospace materials, tolerances, PFMEA, PPAP, Six Sigma, and Lean manufacturing.
- Familiarity with MRCL or Technology Readiness Level (TRL) gated processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, facilitation, presentation, quantitative, analytical, organizational, and follow‑up skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines on multiple projects and programs.
