Working Pattern & Location

Full Time, Indianapolis, IN / Hybrid – 3 Office Days/Week

Responsibilities
  • Management of known and potential safety issues (SAR & RT) and appropriate involvement in safety boards as defined in Safety Management Plan.
  • Provide technical support to help resolve technical queries and operational arisings – lead investigation of operational issues to establish root cause, introduce containment actions and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide technical surveillance and quality assurance audits to support continuous product enhancement for customer satisfaction and business expectation.
  • Develop and approve the technical content of technical publications/communications used by OEM, build/commissioning/maintenance bases and customers, including acceptance limit development.
  • Set reliability targets (operational disruption metrics) based on historical data and monitor performance against targets; predict future safety and reliability performance based on failure rates, adopting statistical techniques to support Numerical Risk Assessment, Parametric Distribution and fly‑forward analysis.
  • Identify cost‑reduction opportunities by reviewing and maintaining life‑cycle engineering policies and associated maintenance planning documentation.
  • Manage any issues that affect Maturity, Lifecycle Cost, Reliability and Maintainability and maintain Design Intent.
  • Provide lifecycle technical data (build / in‑service / decommissioning) and model/support modelling of through‑life performance, deterioration mechanisms and service attributes to create and maintain time‑on‑platform prediction, identify opportunities for optimization and support the generation of the Service Operation Validation Strategy.
  • Prepare and deliver technical communications (e.g. presentation and/or reports) to platform provider, regulators, customers, internal stakeholder.
  • Lead and integrate Health‑Monitoring system requirements; identify requirements for new Health‑Monitoring System or capability; ensure compliance with requirements specified by regulatory authorities and adhere to technical and business requirements of internal & external stakeholders.
  • Act as the Technical Authority providing assurance on build, commissioning and maintenance activities where delegated.
  • Gather in‑service data and carry out continuous improvement by identifying Best Practice and Learning from Experience activities, feeding back into future programs and product design teams.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 2+ years of relevant experience, OR Master’s degree in Engineering, OR JD/PhD.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Willingness to travel infrequently on a scheduled and unscheduled basis.
  • Experience and demonstrated capability in root cause investigation, including evidence‑based methods.
  • Experience in safety investigations (Red Tops) involving Rolls‑Royce products.
  • Experience and knowledge of BR700‑Series product line.
  • Breadth of gas turbine engineering experience across engineering functions: design, performance, validation/verification, customer application, certification/qualification, maintenance & overhaul, repair, field service, etc.
  • Proven ability to exercise sound technical and business judgement.
  • Knowledge of components/systems functionality and numerical methods.
  • Experience in supporting/leading cross‑functional teams (specialists, suppliers, customers, partners).
