Roadway Group Leader

A highly respected, long-established engineering consultancy is looking for an experienced Engineering Project Manager to join its growing Indianapolis team. You’ll manage projects from pursuit through delivery, lead multidisciplinary teams, and serve as a trusted partner to public-sector clients on complex engineering assignments.

What You’ll Do

• Manage projects through the full lifecycle: scope development, proposals, contracting, design, and delivery
• Serve as the primary client liaison, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to a high technical standard
• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, including subconsultants
• Oversee budgets, schedules, risk, and contract compliance
• Perform and review technical work including design, calculations, reports, and specifications
• Implement structured project delivery and management plans
• Support business development efforts, including pursuits, proposals, and interviews
• Mentor and develop project staff; support recruitment and succession planning
• Collaborate with internal leadership and cross-functional teams to resolve design and delivery challenges

Project Scale

• Typically manages projects ranging from sub-$1M to $5M,
• May serve as a discipline lead or PM on larger, complex programs

What You’ll Need

• 10+ years of relevant engineering experience
• At least 2 years of project management experience
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage client-facing projects

• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight

Preferred

• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• PMP and/or AICP certification
• 12+ years of industry experience
