Job Description
Atwell is seeking experienced Right of Way Acquisition Specialists to support utility-scale solar energy projects across the Midwest, with a primary focus on Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan. This is an opportunity to contribute to renewable energy development while working directly with landowners, project teams, title resources, and client stakeholders throughout the land acquisition process.
This role will support early-stage solar project development across multiple areas of interest.
We are looking for professionals with strong landowner communication skills, renewable energy or utility-scale land acquisition experience, and the ability to work independently across rural project environments. Candidates located in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, or Michigan are strongly preferred due to anticipated travel throughout assigned project areas.

Responsibilities
- Support right of way and land acquisition activities for utility-scale solar energy projects.
- Conduct landowner outreach and build positive relationships with property owners, agricultural landowners, and local stakeholders.
- Facilitate negotiations for easements, options, rights-of-entry, solar lease agreements, purchase agreements, survey permissions, and related project documents.
- Support competitor research, including identifying active or prior renewable energy agreements, land control activity, and competing project activity within assigned Areas of Interest.
- Assist with online mapping, parcel review, ownership verification, and project tracking using GIS, county records, tax rolls, and other research platforms.
