SCA Engineering Technician IV

* SAIC is currently seeking an Engineering Tech IV to provide drafting and documentation support for NSWC Crane. In this role, you will work closely with engineers, drafters and technicians, contributing to the creation and updating of Technical Data Packages. The position requires experience with Creo and Solid Works 3D parametric software, as well as Windchill, or a willingness to quickly learn these tools.

* ** Roles & Responsibilities:*
* + Creates and modifies detailed models and drawings using Creo and occasional other forms of CAD Software.

+ Works closely with the Customer, Engineers, Technicians and other CAD Operators to capture design, revise existing documentation and attend meetings.

+ Works independently as well as in a collective team effort to effect changes to design and/or documentation

+ Able to delegate tasking and advice to other team members while maintaining quick decision making under pressure.

+ Able to keep Configuration Management of the tasking, files and correspondence as required to complete the task in a quick and orderly fashion.

+ Performs a variety of moderate and complex tasks and have the ability to use a variety of tools to include, but not limited to, Calipers, Gauges, Tape Measure, Ruler and other mechanical devices to aid in design development and verification/validation of first article pieces.

** Qualifications*
* EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

+ Associate degree in a related discipline with a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience, or a high School Diploma and minimum five (5) years of experience with Drafting Design, Electrical and Mechanical.

+ Experience in 3D CAD software while using a PDM configuration system.

+ Hands-on mechanical/electro-mechanical knowledge and aptitude with understanding of currently accepted manufacturing processes and ISO procedures required.

+ Must be detail oriented and able to communicate complex ideas.

+ Must be a US Citizen.

+ Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance; not needed to start.

+ Ability to quickly complete tasking independently and as a team member, with detailed or general instructions.

+ Knowledge and understanding of the following drawing standards:  (ASME-Y14.100, MIL-STD-31000)

+ Knowledge and understanding of basic and advanced CAD procedures and how to properly apply them on demand including, but not limited to, formatting, layout, proper expression of Dimensioning and Tolerancing.

+ Understanding of Military standards and specifications.
