Pharmaceutical Engineering Position
This position is with a global research-based pharmaceutical company that develops and delivers product and services to enhance animal health and production. ResponsibilitiesThe process engineer supports product finishing operations in animal health manufacturing at Clinton Labs. The product finishing operation consists primarily of dry materials handling equipment. This process engineer is responsible for maintaining process equipment and facilities in a continual state of qualification, and additionally, is responsible for maintaining the department's compliance with air emissions requirements.
Process EngineeringThe primary focus for this position will be providing technical support and engineering solutions to process and equipment related issues. Shared responsibility for regulatory compliance:
Knowledgeable about the hazards of manufacturing processes. Aware of and supports safety/environmental policies/procedures. Ensure changes to the process/equipment are documented through the change management system. Ensure all variations in the process are captured in the CAPA or Trackwise event management system as an event/deviation and that proper root cause analysis is completed. Be knowledgeable enough on the computer support systems to provide assistance in troubleshooting the process, analyzing data and conversing with the operators.
Providing continuous improvement into the process, which will involve working with maintenance and managing of some capital projects. Provide the technical support and leadership on capital projects, which will include selecting appropriate improvements, defining the scope, overseeing design/construction and equipment qualification Variability Reduction/LEAN:
This position will be working with the other engineer and other technical support people to evaluate the sources of variability and ways to reduce them. Possible sources of variability will involve the process, the equipment, operator execution and procedures.
BS or MS in engineering (mechanical or chemical). 3 years prior experience as a process engineer in a GMP environment.
Additional Skills/Preferences :Prior environmental experience preferred. Knowledge of dry material handling equipment preferred. Potential exposure to allergens and loud noises Capable of applying Root Cause Analysis techniques to solve equipment issues. High degree of competence regarding communication skills (written & verbal). Knowledge and application of manufacturing quality systems.
Additional Information8-hr. shift. A flexible work schedule is possible. Attendance at some 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM meetings will be required. Work is usually performed Monday through Friday; however, one may be called in on weekends or evenings if a process outage occurs.
