Duties
  • You will be the liaison and technical advisor to the Department Chief Engineer (CHENG) and the CHENG Council.
  • You will ensure compliance with technical execution reviews, including oversight of division-level technical execution reviews, and the coordination of Department and Command level technical reviews of division projects.
  • You will oversee the division risk management process in accordance with division, department, and command instructions to ensure sound application, and participate in risk reviews as appropriate.
  • You will ensure the division embraces a culture of continuous improvement to its products and services.
  • You will champion engineering excellence for the division including the establishment and maintenance of technical methods and processes.
  • You will serve as the technical lead within the division for coordination and vetting of critiques as appropriate following incidents.
  • You will maintain accountability and provide general oversight of the Career Competency Development Program (CCDP) process.
  • You will support technical planning, coordination with division manager, department Chief Strategist and CHENG to support the creation and execution of Warfare Center, Command, Department, and Division vision, strategy, and goals.
  • You will provide support of division science and technology objectives, including 219 project preparation and execution.
  • You will ensure all test procedures and processes are properly reviewed and documented prior to allowing testing to proceed and review all test set ups prior to initial test operation.

    Functional Area

    and Tier assigned to the position, along with Continuous Learning (CL) points, are required within established time frames.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-4 pay band (GS-12 and GS-13 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
As a professional engineer applying a wide range of systems engineering principles to design and develop electronic warfare systems. Examples of qualifying experience may include (1) working knowledge of Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) Requirements; (2) working knowledge of WXS Division project management policies; (3) working knowledge platform EW system design and development; (4) working knowledge of leading and executing Root Cause Analysis efforts;

(5) an understanding of developing and tracking program and technical risks; (6) ability to mentor and support the development of engineers.
