Location: Indianapolis

Onsite: Indianapolis, IN - Onsite 5 days/week to start, can be flex after 6 months to hybrid!

Duration: Permanent, direct hire

Salary: $55-100k+ depending on experience!

Closer to the $55-60k range for more entry level, can get to over $110k for a designer with many yrs of experience!
Mid year and end of year bonuses, varies based on performance. Have seen 20% in the past!
Compensated for overtime if work over 40 hours/week!

Must Haves:

A motivated technician familiar and comfortable with construction details, schedules, bills of materials and use of office standardized details and notes
2+ years of strong experience preparing civil/site construction documents
Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D including:
Surfaces, Alignments, Profiles
Experience with site layout, grading, drainage, utility design, and paving plans
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong communication and collaboration skills

Plusses:

Experience with erosion control and stormwater management design
Field surveying experience
Familiarity with construction details, schedules, and bills of materials
Experience supporting commercial, educational, industrial, multi-family, or mixed-use developments

Day-to-Day:

Prepare construction documents, engineering drawings, and specifications for site development projects
Develop plans related to site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, paving, erosion control, and stormwater management
Collaborate with Project Managers and engineering staff on multiple project types
Convert markups, sketches, survey information, aerial photography, and electronic data into finalized engineering plans
Produce accurate CAD drawings and maps utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D
Assist with field surveying activities as needed
Support special projects, including AutoCAD software maintenance and implementation
Ensure project deliverables meet company and client drafting standards

What you will be doing

This person creates the construction plans that contractors use to build a site. They spend most of their day in CAD software creating technical drawings and updating plans based on engineer feedback. Preparation of Construction Documents (engineering drawings and specifications) including site layout, grading, drainage, erosion control, storm water management, utility design, and paving
Work with Project Managers and other staff on a variety of project types including schools, office buildings, manufacturing facilities, parking garages, and multi-family housing
Transfer information in written, sketched, or electronic format from sources such as drawing mark-ups, hand sketches, survey data, aerial photographs, and computer files to final plans and maps
The person who turns an engineer's ideas into detailed drawings that show:
Where buildings go
How roads and parking lots are laid out
How water drains across the property
Where sewer, water, and storm pipes are located
How grading and elevations should be constructed
Design grading and drainage plans
Draft stormwater management systems
Draft utility plans (water, sewer, storm)
Create paving and parking lot layouts
Update plans from engineer markup
Generate construction details and schedules
Coordinate with Project Managers and Civil Engineers
