** AS AN CONTROLS ENGINEER, YOU WILL:
*** Interact closely with cross functional teams to develop, design, program and debug new/existing equipment and automated/robotic solutions to optimize performance.
* Collaborate with Copeland engineers to ensure controls/automation/programming designs align with Copeland standards.
* Work with outside integrators and machine builders to confirm new equipment meets design requirements and performs as expected.
* Interface with Copeland manufacturing facilities to gain an understanding of their needs and how best to meet them.
* Develop documentation for use by operators & maintenance technicians to perform their duties and assist them in troubleshooting.
* Ensure all production related equipment meet all safety requirements in accordance with applicable industry standards.
* Completes other duties as assigned.
** REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE &
SKILLS:
*** Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer, Electrical or Industrial Engineering/Engineering Technology or equivalent, plus 3 – 5 years of related experience, OR an Associate's degree with equivalent work experience would also be considered.
* Excellent communication (listening, meeting facilitation, project report-outs, etc.).
* Experience in PLC/HMI programming
* Written and verbal communication skills.
* Motivated self-starter and team player, capable of working closely with Management, Product Engineering, Peers, Equipment Suppliers and Plant Personnel.
* Experience and working knowledge of PC applications and Microsoft Online Products.
* Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.

* * Assembly operates on a 4-day, 10-hour work-shift schedule. Salaried employees who are not front-line supervisors work five days to support this arrangement. They can choose between working extended hours from Monday to Thursday with a half day on Friday, or they can opt for full eight-hour workdays from Monday to Friday.

** Our 2-building campus offers a safe and clean work environment with a “family” atmosphere. We manufacture new semi-hermetic compressors and take the worn-out, failed compressors out of the field and remanufacture them to “like new” status, as well as manufacture crank shafts.
